Are technological innovations like Facebook "spiritual tools" enabling us to be more interconnected with each other (and realizing that we ARE interconnected), or are they big distractions taking us away from the quiet time needed for contemplation, meditation and real appreciation of life? A new book: "Hamlet's Blackberry" about dealing with the distractions of always being connected. The author goes back to previous times in history when technology was changing how people lived to see how thinkers of the time dealt with it. He deals with it by turning it off on weekends, allowing his family some old fashioned together time. But he also explores the value of being closely connected to people.
