Contemplative Photography

Can taking pictures of the ordinary things and scenes of my life help me to appreciate them more?
Will I be more grateful?

Will I see the beauty in everyday life that I normally overlook?

Can the pictures, so easily produced, serve as re-minders to me of the state of awareness and awakeness that I was in when I took the photo?

A couple of excellent references are available:

Effortless Beauty by Julie DuBose.

The Practice of Contemplative Photography by Andy Karr and Michael Wood.

The book has a website which describes some of the exercises in the book and includes some example photos.
